Hi Julio!
I totally agree with "Hiero Journey" being the prime material for a wide-screen blockbuster. It has very visual writing, likeable characters, and that "post-apocalyptic" feel that the world might appreciate in these jittery times.
Best of luck to you! I'm blogrolling your site.
cheers
Avi
Would have included A Canticle for Leibowitz myself. Love the site!
Many thanks for this list. There are several authors/novels unfamiliar to me that I will look up. However, for me, there are some classic books and some excellent newer works I have read which more than deserve a place on such a list and that I would recommend to readers of this genre: 'The Earth Abides' by George Stewart; The Death of Grass' by John Christopher; 'This is the Way the World Ends' by James Morrow; 'Parable of the Sower' & 'Parable of the Talents' by Octavia Butler; 'Swan Song' by Robert McCammon. And to add a very recent and very good addition to the genre: 'The End of the World Running Club' by Adrian J. Walker.
